Reporting directly to the Manager, Development, and working in collaboration with another incumbent, this role is responsible for two key functions: interpret and administer the Town’s zoning by-law, provide zoning information to key stakeholders; and serve as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Committee of Adjustment. You will use your strong writing and research skills to provide comments pertaining to zoning on all development applications and as required for any hearings/tribunals. You will demonstrate your organizational skills through the maintenance of all records related to the Town's zoning by-law. As Secretary-Treasurer, you will prepare and circulate all notices and agendas to committee members, draft conditions and issue certificates.
The Ideal Candidate
The Town is looking for a client-oriented, and highly organized professional to fulfill this vacancy on our team. As a graduate of a Land Use Planning degree or diploma program (or closely related field), you have a demonstrated understanding of planning and zoning related matters. You have at least 3 years experience in planning or zoning administration, with a strong ability to interpret zoning bylaw(s). You are a committed team player and work well with a diverse group of professionals. You are a problem-solver, and regularly display a commitment to customer service excellence.
Designation as an accredited Committee Secretary - Treasurer (ACIT) is an asset.
This position offers a salary range of $64,617.55 - $81,731.34 plus a competitive benefit package.
