Description

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Fleet Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing annual MTO inspections, routine maintenance, as well as carrying out major or minor repairs on all equipment serviced by the Town of Caledon

in a safe, efficient, and customer focused manner. As a Fleet Technician II, you will perform the following duties,

including but not limited to:

  • Performing major/minor repair and preventative maintenance on all Town owned vehicles and equipment
  • Identifying and reporting equipment deficiencies and ensuring all repairs are properly completed and carried out in a safe and timely manner
  • Conduct and sign annual MTO Vehicle inspections
  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electronic/electrical faults

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with Grade 12 completion or the equivalent and successful completion of 310T (Truck and Coach Technical). Additional coursework, including 310S (Automotive Service Technician), is considered an asset. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience servicing heavy trucks, vehicles, and equipment and a Class DZ licence is considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated working knowledge of electronics and hydraulics, and vehicle/equipment diagnostic software knowledge. We are seeking an individual with superior analytical skills, a demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines, and excellent problem-solving skills.

This position offers a pay rate of $35.10 per hour plus a competitive benefit package.
