The Opportunity

As an invaluable member of the People Services team, the Associate, People Services (Recruitment) will manage the full-cycle recruitment of qualified internal and external candidates by working closely with Hiring Managers to meet necessary recruitment requirements. This role provides guidance, assistance, advice and expertise to all corporate managers and employees with respect to the recruitment, selection and hiring processes at multiple organizational levels.

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Business Partner, you will assist the Hiring Manager in screening and selecting candidates for interviews, arranging interviews, preparing interview questions, conducting and evaluating interviews, and make recommendations for successful candidates. You will prepare and extend offers of employment, assist with the negotiation of employment offers, and maintain contact with prospective job candidates. You will proactively research and recommend new sources for candidate recruitment, and oversee the Town's Applicant Tracking System. You will also assist with employee data input and employee source data management within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

COVID-19: In consideration of the current pandemic and Public Health orders, the Town of Caledon is providing limited in-person services as Town Hall is open to the public by appointment only. The successful candidate for Associate, People Services (Recruitment) will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a client-oriented and proactive human resources professional with a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources Management, or closely related field. CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of related experience in human resources with a strong focus on recruitment and selection. Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) a definite asset.

We are seeking a reliable self-starter who isn’t afraid to take initiative. You will bring strong detail orientation, time management and problem-solving skills to the role, as well as having the ability to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders, including the leadership team. An experienced communicator with a focus on customer-service, you can effectively manage a high-volume workload and competing priorities.

This position offers a starting rate of pay of $31.97 per hour.

Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
